AS1851 is the Australian Standard for the Routine Service of fire protection systems and equipment.
AS1851-2012 requires that a building owner issue an Annual Fire Safety Statement (AFSS). This statement advises that the essential fire safety measures, relating to their building, have been tested and assessed and when assessed, found to be capable of performing to the standard as detailed in the fire safety schedule or to a standard no less than to which the system(s) was/were designed. This standard is also referred to as the ‘minimum standard of performance’ or ‘performance requirements’.
